TV Writer Mike Lam & Volcan Tequila
The agave used to produce Volcan Blanco is grown in rich volcanic soil, giving the tequila the color and flavor it develops. Moet-Hennessy and the Gallardo family teamed up with tequila expert and industry leader Maestra de Tequila Anna Maria Romero Mena to take the reins in creating the perfect tequila formula. Her 25 years in the tequila making industry and vision of blending the strong, curvaceous flavors from the lowlands with the citrusy, elegant floral flavors of the highlands was key. An expression of our terroir, Tequila Blanco blends its herbal, citrus, and spice notes indicative of the lowlands with fruit notes of cherry, pear, and peach from the highlands.

Volcan Cristalino was aged in a variety of casks and is meant to be a sipping tequila rather than a cocktail mixer. “I created a cristalino blend that would embrace the heritage of Mexico and give a soft and subtle personality when placed in Old World barrels,” says Maestra de Tequila Ana Maria Romero Mena.
